A properly designed production workstation
should include the vast array of ergonomic features available
today. These include the following:

Torque
Reaction Arms
To protect operator from repetitive motion wrist injury. Arms may also be used to keep
tool perpendicular to work surface and balance the weight of tool. Special fixturing can
be designed to accommodate riveting, staking, dispensing and other types of tools.
Balancers
and Jibs
Used where torque reaction need not be controlled and maximum vertical and horizontal
travel is required.
Workpiece
Balancers and Lifting Devices
To assist operator in moving and placing moderately heavy parts. Can be custom designed
with special vacuum or clamping pick-up mechanisms.
Height
Adjustable Workbenches
Ergonomic assembly stations for the light assembly and electronics industries.
Custom
Torquing Stations
McCann can build stations to assemble products such as valves and pumps, with single or
multiple spindles. Torque can be monitored and/or controlled electronically and
information can be stored in memory or statistically analyzed.
Screwfeeders,
Presenters and Counters and Desktop Systems
To increase production rates, fasteners can be fed directly to
a torque controlled electric or pneumatic driver. Presenters allow
the operator to pick up a fastener with a magnetic or vacuum tip.
Counters are available to verify number of fasteners driven into a
particular part. Completely automated X,Y,Z programmable desktop
systems are also available. All of the above items are available
through McCann Equipment Ltd. An application specialist would be
glad to discuss your particular requirements.
